Fifth Night of Protests in Charlotte Turns Violent

    Violence has escalated during the fifth night of protests in Charlotte.

    CMPD has reported that while there were many peaceful protests at play, some began to throw bottles of water at officers. One officers was injured when a chemical agent was thrown at him. Dispersal orders were given during this time. 

    Just before 10 pm, a small group of protesters began shining lasers at bike officers. Police made an arrest and used riot control agents like flash bangs to disperse the crowd. 

    Chemical agents were used when protesters refused to leave.
