CMPD reported Tuesday afternoon that 97 total people have been arrested through the four days of protests in the Charlotte area. The Department said that 70 of those were from the Charlotte area and that 27 were from Monday night's protests.

Charlotte like most cities around the country has seen protests for George Floyd, a Minneapolis man who died in police custody in May.

Video of Floyd's encounter with the police sparked national outrage as officers are seen pinning him to the ground with one officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck despite him being unconscious.
