The Republican National Convention comes to Charlotte next year from Monday, August 24 through Thursday, August 27, 2020 and the attention of the nation will come with it.

John Lassiter, CEO of the Charlotte 2020 Host Committee joined the Pat McCrory Show recently and estimates 15,000 members of the media alone will be visiting the region for up to 10 days prior to the 4-day event.

"This is a great opportunity for our city, our region and actually both states because the eyes of the world will be on our city for up to two weeks and certainly the four days of the convention." said Lasitter.

Up to 8,000 volunteers will be needed to pull off an event of this magnitude.  Lassiter describes a wide range of volunteer opportunities from meet and greet at the airport to working at the convention itself.

If you're interested in becoming a volunteer please visit the Charlotte 2020 Host Committee website.

The host Committee is also hopeful to express the narrative of our economy, work force, unique opportunities and the relationship between the mountains and the coast which make the Carolinas and Charlotte specifically appealing to business leaders.
