Buffalo, NY (WBEN) The attorney for the man shoved by Buffalo Police during a city hall protest this month has been released from the hospital.

Kelly Zarcone tells WBEN Martin Gugino was released from the Erie County Medical Center earlier today.  He will be recovering at an undisclosed location in order to ensure his privacy. "Martin Gugino was released from the Erie County Medical Center earlier today.  He will be recovering at an undisclosed location in order to ensure his privacy," says Zarcone in a statement.

Zarcone says Gugino can walk with a little help and his condition will continue to improve with rest and time. He says receiving cards and letters made it feel like Christmas.

"Martin said that he is pleased at the progress made so far to protect the safety of peaceful protesters, a topic near and dear to his heart.  He respects the burden of authority placed upon law enforcement but looks forward to the continued implementation of systemic changes to eliminate police brutality," adds Zarcone.
