Arlington National Cemetery has re-opened to the public for grave site visitations only.
The public can now visit family and friends interred in the cemetery daily from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The cemetery temporarily closed to visitors due to COVID-19 on March 13.
“As conditions in the National Capital Region have continued to improve, our goal is to provide increased access for the public to visit a loved one’s grave site,” said Executive Director of Army National Cemeteries and ANC Karen Durham-Aguilera in a release.

Family pass holders can continue to visit their loved one’s grave site from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Face coverings are mandatory while on cemetery grounds and social distancing is expected, according to the release.
Sites including the John F. Kennedy grave site, Memorial Amphitheater and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier remain closed due to public health precautions. Exhibits at the Welcome Center also continue to be closed.

Arlington House also remains closed due to a rehabilitation project taking place at the site, which is managed by the National Park Service. The Women in Military Service for America Memorial will remain closed to the public but is available for scheduled events only.
The cemetery’s parking garage is open for passenger cars only. The Arlington Cemetery Metro Station has been open since Aug. 23.
Visitor screening lanes will be set up outside the Welcome Center for direct access to cemetery grounds. A screening lane can be found inside the Welcome Center for restroom access upon arrival only.
“Arlington National Cemetery staff will be monitoring all aspects of the cemetery in order to prepare for a full opening in the near future,” said ANC Superintendent Charles “Ray” Alexander, Jr.
