Here are some quick highlights of what happened Saturday morning at the Carolina Panthers training camp practice Tuesday afternoon that a select group of media were able to watch:

-The Panthers were in full pads and practiced almost the whole morning in full scrimmage mode, which the media wasn't allowed to live tweet about.

-Through the first four series, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater had the only TD pass of the day, which went to Christian McCaffrey in the back right corner of the end zone.

-The defense pretty much controlled the day. After practice, coach Matt Rhule met with the team for quite a while at midfield. He had stopped practice twice during the day to do the same thing.

-Bridgewater went 15-24 with a touchdown, Will Grier went 7-9 and P.J. Walker was 5-7 in the scrimmage.

-Kicker Joey Slye had a tough day to say the least. He went 1-for-5, with a block. His misses were all from around 50-yards and all wide right.

-Newly-signed punter Kaare Vedvik punted during the scrimmage and Joseph Charlton held for Slye. Matt Rhule told reporters after practice that Vedvik gives the team versatility being bale to kick and punt.

-Rookie safety Jeremy Chinn continues to impress. Rhule said Chinn is going to play a lot, whether it’s at safety or the big nickel and if the season started today, he would be a starter.

-Linebacker Tahir Whitehead wore shorts and didn’t practice as Rhule said he was given a vet day. Defensive end Marquis Haynes is in the concussion protocol.
