Holloway serves as a patient care assistant at Buffalo General, and she also represented the 200th Covid patient to be released from the hospital.
On Wednesday afternoon, her colleagues, family and friends congregated in the lobby of Buffalo General for a celebratory farewell.
Holloway says she originally went to get tested because she had a little bit of a fever. Even though her test came back positive, Holloway claims she wasn't experiencing any other symptoms, so she simply went home to self-isolate. However, she just couldn't shake the fever, and that's when she knew something more serious was up.
The physical symptoms were difficult to overcome, but Holloway says one of the hardest aspects of her month-long battle was the isolation from her family.
"It was definitely hard to not even be able to have a visitor," she added. "It was just like, 'I can't see anybody, I'm just supposed to see you guys? Like, I love you guys, but I want to see a family member...I want a hug or something.'"
Holloway has a little bit of physical therapy to complete before going back to work, but when that's over, she says she's ready to go.
"I'm definitely ready though - I'm not nervous or anything - I'm ready to come back and help as much as I can."
