Hundreds pressed through heavy rain to pay their respects to Rayshard Brooks, who was shot and killed by a white police officer at the Wendy's off University Ave in Southwest Atlanta.

The public viewing was held at Atlanta's historic Ebenezer Baptist Church. The atmosphere was emotionally charged, as many could barely hold back tears after leaving the sanctuary.

In the sanctuary, family and friends sat in the first two rows facing the casket while many walked through.  Brooks looked regal as he laid in a gold casket wearing a cream suit with gold buttons, sequins gold shoes, and sunglasses. Willie A. Wakins, the owner of the Funeral Home handling the services, said that Brooks' wife Tomika Miller specifically requested that Brooks wore sunglasses because she always loved the way he looked with them on.

Pallbearers, along with Brooks' Sister Danielle and other family members, carried Brooks' gold-colored coffin out of the church when the viewing ended at 7 pm.
