PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is facing the ire of Governor Tom Wolf after he got a haircut and beard trim.

Big Ben said he wouldn’t cut his hair or shave his beard until he was able to throw an NFL-quality pass to his teammates.

In a video released Monday, Roethlisberger is seen throwing passes to JuJu Smith-Schuster, Ryan Switzer and James Conner.

Also in the video, the Steelers QB is seen getting a haircut and shave.

Barbershops in the Pittsburgh area are currently ordered closed due to the pandemic and will not be allowed to open until an area enters the green phase of the state’s mitigation plan.

“My concern is just a general concern, anybody who puts himself or herself into harm’s way is something that I think we ought to try to avoid and when you go to something like a barbershop and you’re not protected, I don’t care who you are, the chances of that virus actually wreaking havoc on your life increases.”

"I don't personally think any Pennsylvanian ought to take that chance. I certainly don't want to take that chance myself,” Wolf added.

Wolf was also asked if the state was investigating the barbershop and if they would face any disciplinary actions but did not respond to that part of the question.

Roethlisberger reportedly got his hair cut at Norman’s Cut n Edge Barbershop in Sewickley.

The shop’s website says they have been open since 1993 and the business is a one-man operation.

The website says the shop is currently closed and is not currently taking any public appointments.
