A team from Duke University is investigating whether 
cancer-causing radiation from coal ash could be putting Lake Norman residents at risk -- including students at Lake Norman high school where tons of coal ash are buried nearby.

Mark Garrison attended a meeting Thursday night in Mooresville where researchers and state officials shared information with local doctors who are concerned about unusually high rates of thyroid cancer in two specific zip code.
