The Fight Between County Commission and City Council
The Pat McCrory Show w/ Bo Thompson
October 29, 2019 - 12:42 pm
"There is a fight that no one is talking about behind the scenes between the Democrats of the Charlotte City Council and the Democrats of Mecklenburg County Commission" according to Pat McCrory.
The fight is surrounding the propsed1/4 cent sales tax increase for Mecklenburg County and the plan for that money if it is passed.
McCrory claims the County wants to spend the money on the Arts while the City would rather have money to invest in transit.
The City Council delayed further voting on planning for the expansion of the transit system to include a Silver line from Matthews to Belmont.
McCrory believes that delay is to wait for the result of the vote on the 1/4 cent sales tax.
