The morning after winning the election for the North Carolina District 9 Congressional seat, Congressman Elect Dan Bishop came straight to the WBT Studio to share stories of his success with Pat McCrory and Bo Thompson.

Bishop detailed the first orders of business including hiring staff and identifying committees to support, but first having to determine when he will be sworn into office.

Bishop is sure to be a busy man in the coming weeks and months as he will have to resign his State Senate seat before assuming the responsibilities of US Congress.

Pat McCrory being no stranger to the campaign trail, thanked both Bishop and his opponent Dan McCready for their service to North Carolina.

When asked about the most difficult part of the campaign, Bishop replied "It is a constant pressure and the other aspect of that is the need to raise an immense amount of money."

That campaign pressure will return sooner than later for Bishop if he seeks re-election in 2020 as his first term is shortened severely by the circumstances of this special election.
