It's Election day and Pat McCrory wants you to know about a very important vote happening today.
On the ballot is a proposed sales tax that would put an additional quarter-cent tax on goods and services purchased in Mecklenburg County.
If the measure passes it would mean you would spend an extra nickel for every $20 spent.
Many have criticized the planned expediture of the proposed added sales tax as a thrown together plan.
If the tax hike passes, the arts would get the bulk of the money, some 45% or about $22.5 million.
McCrory warns about the tax increase "I don't want us to become like those other cities that people are deserting."
"Yet a lot of people that came from those other cities are voting for the exact same policies that they were trying to leave."
Are you for increased taxes? Vote today.
