Since President Trump took office four years ago, the number of book publishers working overtime to print stories about his administration, his family and his business interests have skyrocketed. And many of them have brought in big dollars from those wait to read the next tell-all accounts of the first family.

The political schmears of the president served up by Mary Trump and Michael Cohen are two of the latest examples of how people are trading in dignity for a payout. Add those two names to the list of people who've used the pen against Trump, along with several former key U.S. Government officials like FBI director and national security adviser John Bolton.

"They used to call it the October surprise," WBT's Pat McCrory said on Tuesday. " Now, it has really become the September surprise or August surprise because voting is starting earlier."

North Carolina's former governor went on to say the attacks are timed to influence those people who're undecided. "It's not just coincidental. It's coordinated with book publishers that are often owned by the same companies that own the networks-- ABC, NBC and CBS and CNN-- It's timed to coincide with the election"

'Disloyal: A Memoir', the forthcoming first-hand account of Trump's love for racism and Russia by Cohen is being released today. A book expected to top bestseller lists around the world, and rake in a lot of money in the process. Mary Trump's memoir "Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man” has sold nearly 2 million copies since being released in July.
