National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci joined the Pat McCrory Show with Bo Thompson Thursday morning.
Fauci immediately addressed facemasks, imploring people to keep their masks on, especially when speaking with others in close proximity.
"In order to protect society, you need to wear a mask... one of the ways the virus leaves your body is when you speak," Fauci urged.
Thompson asked Fauci to look ahead to August 2021, and predict where we will be as a nation.
Fauci emphasized "the success of a vaccine that is safe and effective" being one of the most important factors, along with "the behavior (of) and what the American public do."
Fauci closed the interview with strong words, stating "this is the wost pandemic we have had in 102 years... I've never seen a virus that has such a broad range of manifestations."
