Lara Trump was a guest on the Pat McCrory Show Thursday and said Republicans are still planning on hosting their national convention in Charlotte later this year.

"Listen still planning on having it going to go forward," The President's campaign advisor said. "We're trying to plan an epic epic convention.

Trump said that campaign strategy has had to change due to the social distancing measures in place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We're used to seeing the President out at these massive rallies all across the country," she told McCrory. "We had bus tours scheduled. I was supposed to do a bus tour actually in North Carolina at some point with our women for Trump coalition, Black voices for Trump Coalition, Latinos for Trump coalition. So we've had to change. We've moved completely to a digital platform, virtual Town Hall, virtual round tables."

She said the campaign is engaging "around a million people every single time that we do one of these virtual events."

Trump said the President is looking forward to returning to face-to-face campaigning.

"The President wants to get back out to the rallies, but we're taking it day-by-day until we can get back to things as normal or Trump normal. I guess then we're going to keep doing it this way," she said.
