McCrory: Biden's Bait and Switch on violent protesters

The popular proverb says "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." For Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, that may be true from his recent words on the campaign trail.

The former Vice President said the following about President Trump's handling of the violence in the country:

"Fires are burning and we have a president, who fans the flames rather than fighting the flames. But, we must not burn, we have to build. This president, long ago, forfeited any moral leadership in this country. He can't stop the violence. Because for years, he has fomented it. You know, he may believe mouthing the words 'Law and Order' makes him strong. But, his failure to call on his own supporters to stop acting as an armed militia in this country, shows how weak he is. Does anyone believe there will be less violence in America if Donald Trump is re-elected? We need justice in America."

The general message sounded very similar to what former North Carolina governor Pat McCrory said back in May on NBC's Meet the Press.

"They don't even care what the protestors are protesting about. Their cause is destruction of capitalism. Destruction of out Governmental units. And destruction of our police. They use incredible art-of-war tactics. Do not underestimate them. I'm so proud the governor of Minnesota doesn't. They'll use art-of-war tactics, which they'll maneuver around using their IPhones. So, once the police move,  they'll be elsewhere. They are very dangerous. They burned down the city hall in Nashville, Tennessee. That is their goal and they'll play the media also. And I encourage the media to draw them out and identify them. To protect our neighborhood, our cities and protect the right of these protestors over a very justifiable reason while they're protesting"

Is Biden taking a page out of Pat's playbook's? A twist on words, but eerily alike in context. Also, Biden seems like his thoughts on violent protestors in the U.S. has changed in the past couple months.

“Do I look like a radical socialist with a soft spot for rioters?” Biden asked in a 24-minute speech in Pittsburgh according to USA Today “I want a safe America – safe from COVID, safe from crime and looting, safe from racially motivated violence, safe from bad cops.”

And somewhat of a flip for the Democrat on his previous stance. "Protesting such brutality is right and necessary. It’s an utterly American response," Biden said in May. He went on to say, "But burning down communities and needless destruction is not. Violence that endangers lives is not. Violence that guts and shutters businesses that serve the community is not.”
