Ramona Holloway brings her positive energy to the community

Ramona Holloway

To say Ramona Holloway's work is impeccable is an understatement. The longtime radio host for Entercom Charlotte's is well-known for her outgoing personality heard over the airwaves of 107.9 the Link. But it's not what Ramona is saying between songs that is making the greatest impact.

After suffering a tremendous loss in her life a few years ago, Holloway focused her energy on helping others who've  dealt with similar circumstances. That act of selflessness has become a silver lining for Ramona.

"About a year ago I started recording a series of interviews with people who had amazing comeback stories," Holloway told WBT's Pat McCrory show with Bo Thompson on Friday. "I was devastated. And I fell down so hard, that I didn't know if I could get back up. People who loved me were telling me "It's going to be okay-- You go this. You're good." But, I didn't believe them until I started listening to stories of people who've been there."

She went on to say, "When I started listening to their stories, it played such an amazing role in my healing."

Ramona has taken the words shared by others and is building them into a bigger project. One that she hopes will speak to people dealing with hardships in their life.

She started 'In recovery mode with Ramona' and episode one of the video series will be released on Sept. 14. An open platform to help people who need it the most.

"My hope is that if you know someone who's going through it. You know someone who has lost a child. You know someone who's a sexual abuse survivor. You know someone who has struggled with addiction. To share the story with them-- so the person who needs it will hear it."
