Bo Thompson speaks to John Stokes several times a morning as he passes the live audience from the studio to the newsroom, but this morning was different.

At 7:45, Thompson said to Stokes, "Hey John, could you come down the hall and join me in the studio please?"

After 41 years in radio news and 32 at WBT, legendary newsman John Stokes is retiring.

In front of a packed hall and studio, including John's wife Dianne and John Hancock, a retrospective of Stokes' career was played... and then one more announcement.

John Stokes will be the 12th inductee into the WBT Hall of Fame. The ceremony will happen in the spring, to coincide with WBT's 98th anniversary.

Thompson prepared a retrospective for Stokes with many voices from John's career... Brad Schulz, Al Gardner, Jim Szoke, Stacey Simms, and Jim Barroll.

Stokes' commerative plaque will reside next to his long time friend and coworker John Hancock's.
