We Have Known That Cases Would Continue To Spread

Bo Thompson was joined by  Deputy U.S. HHS Secretary Eric Hargan Friday morning on WBT's Morning News. North Carolina reached 1,000 hospitalizations as of Thursday, meanwhile Hargan was visting healthcare institutuions in the state on Friday.

Hargan noted that the Department of Health and Human Services has "known that cases would continue to spread. We know there are going to be surges." Hargan went on to say that "the goal has always been to flatten the curve... you make sure that the healtcare system is able to respond when the virus makes its appearance."

North Carolina had 81,331 confirmed cases as of Friday morning.
